Munnings' Retreat: your private getaway

Nestling in the lush Lamorna Valley, only 10 minutes walk from the spectacular Lamorna Cove, these two lovely Cornish holiday cottages, The Flower Loft and Lamorna Stream Studio, enjoy a tranquil, secluded setting among bluebell woods.

Munnings’ Retreat is conveniently situated in the heart of the village. It enjoys a sheltered position set in half an acre of lawned and terraced gardens - it is a real sun-trap. Surrounded by woods and bordered by a stream, it provides the perfect private setting for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

The Flower Loft has been been lovingly converted from a granite barn formerly used as a painting studio and stables by Sir Alfred Munnings, an artist famous for his equine painting.

Lamorna Valley is one of the few wooded valleys on the Land’s End Peninsula in West Cornwall. It is famous for its pretty winding lanes, streams and woodland walks and has attracted artists for many years.

Lamorna is an excellent base from which to enjoy your holiday in Cornwall, with Penzance only 5 miles, Land’s End 8 miles and St Ives, known for its numerous art galleries (including the Tate) and its excellent restaurants, only 14 miles away.

The breath-taking cove reveals a small sandy beach at low tide and is frequently used by divers. There is a small cafe serving home cooked food, an ideal stop before taking the coastal paths either to Mousehole or westward to St. Loy (reputedly the warmest place in England), Porthcurno and Land's End.

There are many coves and beaches to be explored locally, and Sennen with its Blue Flag beach is great for surfing. There are many attractions to explore locally, the Minack outdoor theatre, several lovely local gardens and for the more adventurous shark and eel fishing from Penzance harbour.
